PRACTICAL STEPS ON CLEAN AIR AND CLIMATE CHANGE
We’re focused on the actions that need to be taken to help us all change to cleaner local transport and better insulate our homes. Cutting our carbon emissions will also help improve the quality of the air we breathe. For example, we’re investing in a new cycleway connecting the Myton Green community with Warwick, alongside Myton School, which is projected to reduce peak-time car journeys on Myton Road by 30%.
We’re also keen that at the end of the miles of new cycleways currently being built, there are convenient cycle stores in our towns where we can safely leave our bikes. Rather than taking an academic approach to tackling climate change, as argued by the Greens, and delaying until the perfect and typically more expensive solutions are agreed, we’re taking practical and affordable steps now, working in partnership with businesses and other local agencies to get on with a progressive local Climate Action programme.
