Your local Council is not just responsible for collecting tax; its actions affect our everyday lives, including planning, rubbish collection, environmental protection, leisure facilities, car parking, housing and much more.
To run effectively, we need residents wanting to stand for election as councillors - residents who care passionately about their neighbourhood and are willing to stand up for the issues that matter most.
Whilst each Council needs political thinkers, most councillors are not politicians; they are local champions who believe in public service and want to do what is right for their neighbours and the local community.
To help you decide if you would like to be a local councillor, we are holding a series of “open days”.
You will hear from senior councillors about the work that councils do in the community and from our local Agent who will tell you about campaigning and the support you will receive from the Conservative Party. Finally, over coffee, you will have an opportunity to speak one-to-one with experienced local Conservative councillors who will answer any questions you might have.
There is no obligation, so to register your interest, please contact us and we will be in touch. A leaflet is attached with some further information. Or call 01789 292 723 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
